Week #18 - My Favorite Things

I think this week's photo challenge will be a fun one!

Night in our house

This week I find myself challenged, not only by obvious physical obstacles, but also by the fact that Tanya has borrowed my Canon for a upcoming photoshoot, so I am using Floyd's PowerShot "point-and-shoot". However, I was impressed by it's performance and was pleased to find that it had a manual setting that enabled me to experiment. Plus it is still a Canon ;)

This first one is my bedside table with my clock, water bottle, and pile of books:


The next photo shows where our dear old puppy sleeps at night. Now that Floyd is temporarily in the spare bedroom (until I get a bit better), she lays right across the doorway (so that she can know if either one of us gets up, I guess). I feel so bad, however, when I have to get up in the middle of the night because she doesn't hear me, so I have to tap her with the walker...


I was thrilled with the way this next photo came out! I was trying to take a picture of the streetlight shining through the tree branches and was so surprised, when I downloaded the photo, that the camera had, instead, focused on the window screen! But I love the result! It can be frustrating when the camera decides itself what to focus on but here is an example where it can make for a pleasing photo:

Friday night

Today I worked from 2 - 10pm. Seeing as I hadn't taken my night pictures - I figured, I might as well take some tonight :)

I took this picture while driving...I know I shouldn't have...but..I needed a night picture!!!

My first time decorating Easter eggs alone....they may not have been the prettiest, but my little boy and I had a good time making them :)

Week #17: Night

Hershey Eggies

These are my weakness when it comes to Easter time!! I made the mistake and found out at my work, I can buy them in bulk!!! A lot cheaper and so yummy!!

Smile

I decided on this challenge, to go with things that make me smile ;-)

First of all, the one who makes me laugh and smile on a daily basis! Kristy, notice anything special about the "smile" that might be on his face here?? LOL... I love our family!

When I found this twisted pair of pretzels in a package, I thought they were so cute! Somewhere along the production line, somebody must have been dozing...


The fact that a cute little Red-breasted Nuthatch is making a nest in our birdhouse really makes me smile!

My new summer bedding makes me smile every time I walk by...and especially when I snuggle in it at night....ahhhhh.

This week, I was able to go with Mackenzie for her dance competition :)

I went into the dressing room and took some pictures as she was getting ready :)

Week #15: Smile

Grass = Flip Flop Season

Now that the snow is melting and grass is starting to show, I took out my flip flops and I can't tell you how happy my feet felt to be back in flip flops!!

I even painted my toe nails to mark the occasion of flip flop season :)

Spring has sprung...the grass has ris...I wonder where the birdies is??

Here we go - the first and third show the lawn using creative (hee hee) foregrounds. The second and fourth photos just show...the grass.
